Single Origin: one farm region, roasted light

Each release comes from a single farm region, roasted light so the origin character — the brightness, the fruit notes, the differences harvest to harvest — actually comes through. 12 oz bags, whole bean or ground.

Clear Roast Single Origin label design

Single-origin coffee comes from one farm region instead of a mix of lots. Roasting it light preserves the flavors that make each origin distinct, which is why single-origin is the choice of people who want to taste where a coffee comes from rather than how dark it was roasted. The tradeoff is variation: a new harvest can taste noticeably different from the last one.

How the rotation works

When a lot sells out, it rotates. A new origin takes its place, and the label names the new origin. We never quietly substitute a different lot under the same name — the bag tells you where it came from.

The launch origin

The first release's origin is named at launch, from our roaster's current lots. Until then we name no origin — we'd rather under-promise than name a lot we can't ship.

How to brew it

Pour-over and French press show off light roasts best. Light roasts are denser, so if you grind at home, go slightly finer than you would for a medium roast.

Options at launch

  • Whole bean, 12 oz
